Other Sources of Funding

In addition to the funding opportunities offered by the University, there are a number of external sources of funding for postgraduates.

Sponsorship

Many taught and research postgraduates fund their education through the support of a sponsor. Often this is their employer, but many international postgraduates receive funding from their home government.

Professional and Career Development Loans

A Professional and Career Development Loan could help you pay for learning that enhances your job skills or career prospects. It’s a bank loan, so you’ll have to pay it back once you’ve left your course. However, you don’t pay interest for the period when you’re in learning.

Private Professional Loans

Some banks are willing to loan money for specific professional postgraduate programmes at preferential rates of interest. Please note that the University does not endorse any of these loans and you are advised to contact the offering bank for further details.
