Graduate Teaching Assistant - School of Archaeology and Ancient History

Job Purpose

The School of Archaeology & Ancient History is delighted to offer a Graduate Teaching Assistantship. This offers full funding over four years of PhD study with a stipend for UK or EU candidates, and will carry associated teaching duties in Ancient History. The successful candidate will be expected to teach classes in introductory Latin grammar.
We are seeking a highly qualified graduate to join our vibrant research community. Very highly rated for its research in many areas in RAE 2008, the School has particular strengths in the history and archaeology of the classical world, historical archaeology and landscape archaeology.
This award, starting in Janaury 2010, is open to applicants seeking to study any research topic in Ancient History, or one spanning both Archaeology and Ancient History or Ancient History and reception studies, within the supervision expertise of the School’s extensive academic staff. Applicants should normally have a good BA and MA degree in a relevant discipline and expertise in Latin language to an advanced level.
