Graduate School Reading Room and Media Zoo
A unique resource and a hub for the University's postgraduate community
The University's inspirational new Library was officially opened in 2008 - combining state of the art technology with the strengths of a traditional research library.
Among its highlights is the new Nicholas Corah Graduate School Reading Room - a unique resource and a hub for the University's postgraduate community.
What is the Graduate School Reading Room?
The Reading Room has proved extremely popular since its opening. It has a key role in fostering the University's postgraduate community and providing a central hub for this with regular events and workshops throughout term where students can meet new friends, form new networks, and develop their skills in an informal and supported environment.
The Reading Room is a valuable addition to the facilities for our postgraduate community and will help ensure postgraduates can take advantage of the highest quality educational environment. It offers both formal and informal study spaces together with group study rooms that can be booked only by postgraduate students and which are equipped with a PC, DVD player, plasma screen, and whiteboard.
There is a space for silent working equipped with computers and desk lamps and visitors can also find reference-only copies of key texts on postgraduate study, join the student-led thesis discussion group which meets regularly to discuss the processes and problems of postgraduate research, or upload and view resources such as theses and electronic journals through the e-readers which are available for student use weekday afternoons.

The Nicholas Corah Graduate School Reading Room is located on the First Floor of the David Wilson Library.
Graduate School Media Zoo
The Graduate School Media Zoo is the new home of "technological wildlife" at the University – an interactive space for exploring technologies essential for the 21st century researcher.
