Role of the Graduate School
The Graduate School is also responsible for:
- considering and monitoring bids to the Research Training Innovation Fund - providing financial support to innovations in researcher development training
- coordinating the University's participation in national surveys - such as the Postgraduate Research Experience Survey (PRES) and the Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES)
- promoting and supporting relevant staff development opportunities
- supporting University, College, and Departmental postgraduate student recruitment activities
Who We Are
The Graduate School has three main components:
Additionally, the Graduate Dean chairs the Postgraduate Quality Group and the Training and Development Group. The links between these groups, the University's four Colleges, and the University's Academic and Research Policy Committees are illustrated below:
The Graduate School also works with the Postgraduate Tutor in each Department as well as the University of Leicester Students' Union Postgraduate Committee and various external bodies including Vitae and the UK Council for Graduate Education.
