Research interests

The physical properties of rocks and their interdependence within a geological context, utilising both laboratory measurements on core and downhole measurements (see CALLISTO) in assessing reservoir and repository properties, as well as investigating novel applications of electrical and acoustic properties. Current petrophysics  projects include biologically inspired acoustic systems (a £3.3M Basic Technology consortium grant; www.biasweb.co.uk  ), gas hydrates , and both conventional and unconventional hydrocarbon reservoir characterisation (funded by industry).
