Research interests

Recent research has focussed on integrating core and geophysical data from Integrated Ocean Drilling Program Expedition 310, Tahiti Sea Level. The aim of this process was to improve the depths assigned to recovered core and, through analyses of porosity in the coral reef, estimate true core recovery more accurately. I am currently investigating the causes behind increases in the spectral natural gamma logs, measured by wireline logging, through comparison with a combination of analyses on core samples.

I am also interested in ophiolites and their tectonic evolution, in particular the Hatay ophiolite of southern Turkey and its relationship to adjacent Tethyan ophiolites. My PhD research used a combination of palaeomagnetic, rock magnetic and structural analyses to determine the timing and magnitude of rotations experienced by the Hatay ophiolite and to interpret these in the context of the Neotethyan evolution of the eastern Mediterranean.
