Geographies of Culture and Representation

Course Code: GY3152

This module will explore key themes in the study of cultural geography. It will examine representations of place and landscape in diverse media, including film, texts, architecture and photography. Students will be asked to reflect critically on the importance of a geographical approach for understanding culture, and of the value of studying 'culture' for geographical study. The module will consider diverse definitions of 'culture', encouraging students to reflect on the cultures that matter to them.

Assessment is by 100% coursework, comprising of two 2500 word essays.
