I graduated from Curtin University of Technology, Western Australia in 2002  in Geographic Information Sciences (Hons). From 2002-2004, I worked in the software development industry and also took up the post of IT officer at the Ministry of Posts and Telematics in Vietnam.

I was awarded a PhD degree in Geography at the University of Southern California (2011) for my study on the uncertainty in geomorphometry.

I am currently working with Dr. Mark Powell and Dr Nicholas Tate on the inter-relationship between evolution of riverbed structure, bed material, flow, sediment transport in fluvial rivers. The project is funded by NERC (2011-2013) and is a joint project with Loughborough University and City University.
