Student volunteers teach local schoolchildren about Taiwanese Culture

Nima is currently studying Law at the University of Leicester and decided to do the Leicester Award to get out of her comfort zone and face new challenges and develop valuable skills.
Number of graduate roles: We are part of a government-funded volunteering scheme, which seven other charities are also involved in. Altogether we are hoping to recruit and send abroad 7,000 young people from the UK by 2015. We therefore have plenty of roles available!

Salary: N/A, but all costs are covered by the programme, and volunteers also receive a small weekly living allowance when in-country.
Application deadline: Volunteers should aim to apply at least three months before they would like to go abroad.

Further information about recruitment: There is an initial application form candidates fill out; if they meet all criteria they will be invited to a selection day somewhere in the UK. If successful, they will be accepted onto the programme and will undergo a weekend's training before departing for their placement.
