Geography Ambassadors Scheme
More than 25 students from the Geography Department have now trained to take part in the Royal Geographical Society’s Geography Ambassadors project. The scheme trains and supports undergraduate geographers and graduate professionals to act as ambassadors for geography in the classroom.
Our department was the first in the East Midlands to sign up to supporting the Ambassadors project and our students deliver more talks nationally than most ambassadors. This is a great way to introduce younger students to the benefits of studying geography and encouraging them to pursue the subject beyond the compulsory stages. The ambassadors act as positive role models for pupils and can illustrate, with enthusiasm, both the specific and transferable skills they have developed as a geographer.
For further information about the scheme, or to book a visit by our ambassadors, contact Kate Amis at the Royal Geographical Society at ambassadors@rgs.org
