Genetics deals with heredity and variation. It covers a broad range of subjects from the molecular level right up to the species level.

New discoveries in genetics are changing our understanding of ourselves and the natural world.  These discoveries promise new applications in medicine or agriculture. However, with these new understandings and new technologies, come ethical, social and legal challenges that all of us have to face.
