The Department of Genetics provides a stimulating and supportive environment for
postgraduate education. Our Postgraduate Training Programme aims to develop postgraduate students into mature and independent research scientists possessing highly marketable scientific skills.
In 2005 a £4.85 million award for excellence was awarded to the department called GENIE (Genetics Education Networking for Innovation and Excellence) which is a Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL)
