Victorian Studies Centre

The Victorian Studies Centre at the University of Leicester has a distinguished record of innovation and excellence in interdisciplinary research and teaching at postgraduate level. Established in 1966 with a generous grant from the Leverhulme Trust it is the longest established Victorian Studies Centre in Britain. The Centre's research and teaching staff are drawn from the Faculties of Arts and Social Sciences, and comprise members of the School of English, the School of Historical Studies which includes the internationally renowned Centres for Urban History and English Local History, and the Department of History of Art and Film. Medieval Research Centre

The Medieval Research Centre was established in 1996 to co-ordinate interdisciplinary research and teaching in medieval subjects across the College of Arts, Humanities and Law at the University of Leicester, and to host conferences, colloquia and a programme of lectures and seminars by local and visiting speakers. Centre for American Studies

The Centre for American Studies is based within the College of Arts, Humanities & Law and draws from the teaching expertise of staff in the Schools of Historical Studies and English, and the Departments of History of Art and Film and Politics. With a combined intake of around 70 students per year for single and joint honours, and ranked in the "Top 2" by The Independent and The Times, the Centre for American Studies at Leicester is firmly established as one of the UK's most important providers of American Studies degrees.
