Creative Writing Fellow John Siddique contributes to the Olympics
John Siddique's poem 'Making It Up', from Don't Wear It On Your Head (Salt) will appear in The Independent on 14 July, as part of a selection of inspirational poems for the Olympics. The poems have been specially chosen by the Forward Foundation/Winning Words.
Meanwhile, BBC Radio 4's ‘With Greatest Pleasure’, featuring Cerys Matthews, will be broadcast 16 July at 4pm. John was Cerys' special guest performing 'Thirst' from 'Full Blood' in front of a live audience in Bristol with accompaniment from the brilliant cellist Julia Kent (Anthony & The Johnsons, Solo, etc). A longer edition of the show will be broadcast later in the year, which will also feature 'A Place Of Silence', again with Julia on cello.
