Research
This page gives an overview of the research areas covered by the Thermofluids research group at the Department of Engineering, University of Leicester.
Current research is focussed on the understanding and prediction of transitional and unsteady flow phenomena and on relevant engineering applications, such as turbomachinery design and low-emissions combustion systems. Techniques employed to address these exciting challenges include, hot wire anemometry, particle image velocimetry, pressure scanning, and computational techniques.
Collaboration with British industry includes Rolls-Royce and ALSTOM. International collaboration extends to ongoing work with the University of Tasmania, the US Naval Postgraduate School and the Canadian NRC.
