Brief biography
Dipak Raval worked as an apprentice plumber and motor vehicle service engineer for ten years combined, before joining the Department of Engineering, University of Leicester, in 1997. He obtained a City and Guilds Crafts qualification in plumbing and a BTec National Certificate in Motor Vehicle Engineering, and an NVQ in Production Engineering.
Dipak is responsible for the development and maintenance of the hydraulics systems of the Thermofluids research group. These include the operation of the gravity fed water flume, from the 33m high head hydraulic tower, and of the 70bar abs. compressor lines.
Dipak also assists with the development of engine test rigs, such as the Diesel generator set, for third year and fourth year MEng projects, led by Thermofluids staff.
