Dr Fernando Schlindwein awarded place on RAE Industry Secondment Scheme
Dr Fernando Schlindwein has been awarded an Industry Secondment Scheme by the Royal Academy of Engineering to help St. Jude Medical UK improve their system for the diagnostics and treatment of atrial arrhythmias. The secondment will be from 01 January 2010 to 30 June 2010. During that period Dr Schlindwein will be working at St. Jude Medical UK.
This will be a continuation of the collaboration already existent involving St. Jude Medical UK, the Department of Cardiovascular Science of Glenfield Hospital and the Department of Engineering towards the development of tools and techniques for better assessment and identification of arrhythmic atrial foci to improve chances of successful ablation. The work will mostly involve development of signal processing techniques.
