Mobile MDCT scanners currently used for clinical scanning can also be used in forensic imaging. These mobile units have the benefits that they can be rented by the day and taken to the scene of an incident and can operate on site as long as they have diesel for the generator. These scanners can be operated indoors or out, 24 hours a day and in any weather conditions.

Fimag

The UK has invested in to the development of the Fimag system. Originally concieved from work undertaken at the East Midlands Forenisc Pathology Unit. This system provides a single integrated secure data aquisition, storage and assessment system from scene to mortuary to ID completion.
