The BA (Hons) Degree in Educational Studies is a part-time programme designed for students who successfully complete the Foundation Degree in Educational Studies and wish to progress to achieve a Level 3 Qualification and greater professional recognition.
The BA allows students to build on the skills and knowledge gained on the Foundation Degree whilst continuing to work within a classroom environment.
The BA is not a teaching qualification although graduates with a 2.1 or above are eligible to apply to a number of routes into Qualified Teacher Status, including the Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
Programme Aims
The programme aims to:
- improve your educational skills, knowledge and understanding
- enable you to explore the possibility of a career path leading towards greater professional recognition
- offer specific knowledge of the Curriculums and their application
- consider the history, philosophy and sociology of education
- build on your classroom practice through the synthesis of theory and practice
- provide an excellent opportunity to improve your contribution to the learning of young people and others

You will study 6 modules over 2 years, 3 in the first year and 3 in the second year.
