Kevin began his English Language Teaching career in Barcelona in 1978 and has worked in Egypt, Japan, Czechoslovakia, Yemen, New Zealand and Poland.

Working mainly for the British Council, he has been a teacher, a teacher trainer, a language teaching advisor, a Director of Studies and a university lecturer.

Kevin took an MA in Applied Linguistics at the University of Essex in 1984, and after gaining an MPhil in 1997, continued studying and completed his PhD at the University of Cambridge in 2000.

Kevin has been a lecturer in Applied Linguistics here at the School of Education since September 2000.

Kevin teaches on our distance learning MA Applied Linguistics and TESOL programme, and supervises EdD students within his areas of special interest..
