Ingrid joined the School of Education in 2008 as a lecturer on our PGCE courses. Her current areas of teaching include Secondary PGCE English, Secondary PGCE English and Media Studies and Primary PGCE English.
Ingrid spent five years teaching English in Japan both in the state and private sector, and she worked for a year as a Learning Support Assistant at Beaumont Leys School in Leicester. Ingrid has also worked at a Community College in Leicestershire specialising in teaching A Level ‘Communication and Culture and Film Studies’.
Ingrid has previously worked as a coursework moderator and examiner for the AQA exam board.

Ingrid’s teaching interests include the following topics:
- The use of film texts and film language in contributing to students' critical reading skills
- The use of cinematographic terms in creating effective original writing
- The development of speaking and listening skills and Initial Teacher Education students' ability to give focused feedback on pupils' oral contributions
- Storytelling and drama strategies as a vehicle for deep learning.
