 Doug is an ICT Educational Consultant to our PGCE and Continuing Professional Development students involved in ICT aspects of primary teaching.

Doug is passionate about the significance of ICT in teaching and learning and its ability to enhance the work of dedicated teachers and to support and inspire children and students to produce their creative best.  As an independent ICT consultant and keynote speaker, Doug demonstrates, builds, exhorts, jokes, anecdotes and cajoles but eventually insists, that children have the right to the best and that technology can make a significant difference to how they live and learn.

Aside from working with the University of Leicester, Doug ‘guests’ at Liverpool Hope University, De Montfort University and the University of York . He also teaches ICT related to science subjects for the Science Teaching Centres across the country. Doug is an external examiner on the ICT courses at Plymouth University and the University of Roehampton. He is lucky enough to be a world traveller having been invited to speak and work in Northern Ireland, Hong Kong, Trinidad and Tobago , USA and all other parts of the UK. He is educational consultant to ‘Lightbox Education’ (previously Softease) and also acts as electronic consulting editor to the publishing companies of Collins Education and Nelson Thornes. He is a Naace Fellow and an ex-Ofsted Primary Inspector.
