Mental Health Problems and Children with Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (SEBD)
A Postgraduate Certificate course for teachers and other graduates working with Primary, Secondary and FE students.
The course is taught via a residential weekend, followed by distance learning study.

Overview
This course is run in conjunction with the Postgraduate Certificate in Understanding and Managing Children with Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties. The residential elements of the two courses are at the same time and venue.
Course Aims
The course covers issues such as:
- Child development and SEBD
- Separation and loss, and resilience
- Mental health conditions including anxiety, depression, self-harm and eating
disorders - What professionals can do to help
Teaching Sessions
The course has been developed by SEBDA (the Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties Association) with the University of Leicester, and is taught through a residential weekend then distance learning.
In 2011-2012, the residential weekend will be at the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester, Gloucestershire, from 1.00pm Friday 16 September to 12 noon to Sunday 18 September.
All participants are supported for the rest of the year by tutorials; these are organised regionally with experienced tutors. If you live a long way from the arranged venues, you may be able to have tutorials entirely by email and telephone.
Fees
Fee for 2011-2012 for the Postgraduate Certificate route is £1,040.
There is a £20 discount for current members of SEBDA. Please see the SEBDA website for more information about the non-graduate route.
