Undergraduate Year in Europe

The Department of Economics has links with the European Universities listed below, through the Erasmus Programme. Undergraduate Economics students have the opportunityStudent in corridor to extend their studies and language skills by spending a year abroad at the end of their second year, and then return for the final year at Leicester. If you opt for the Erasmus Programme you will need to change from your current course to an Economics degree 'with a Year in Europe' before the start of the second year.

You will then be studying, for example, 'BA Business Economics with a Year in Europe', and will be eligible for a student loan for all four years of your course. An additional grant is also available for your year abroad. No fee will be payable to the host university, but as you remain a registered student a discounted fee is still payable here.  AStudy Abroad studentsccommodation will either be provided at the University you visit or assistance given to help you find your own. In your second year at Leicester free language tuition is available through Languages at Leicester either to upgrade/refresh your knowledge, or when appropriate to give you basic language skills for universities with English-taught courses. This does not apply for classes taught in Greek.
