Departmental Scholarship

The Departmental Scholarship is a £1,250 scholarship awarded as a contribution to your tuition fee each year from the University - a total scholarship of £3,750.

To be considered for a Departmental Scholarship, you must achieve one of the following:

  • A certain standard in your three best A-levels (excluding General Studies) - see table below, or
  • At least 32 points in the International Baccalaureate, or
  • At least DDM in BTEC National Diploma, or
  • An Access to HE Course, or
  • Equivalent in a European qualification

This scholarship is available for all subjects apart from Medicine.

There is no need to apply for a Departmental Scholarship. You will be automatically considered if you meet the criteria and, if successful, you will be notified when final results become available.

Law

Law students attaining the 2012 entry requirement of AAA will receive the Chancellor’s Scholarship. Departmental Scholarships are available in Law for students with other qualifications listed above.

A-level grade equivalents

The following combinations will be considered the equivalent of the required grades. Please note that A-level grade D or below will not count towards a scholarship award.

AAB 340 points A*BB A*AC
ABB 320 points AAC A*BC
BBB 300 points A*CC ABC
