Scholarships for Taught Postgraduates

A scholarship for one of the MSc Programmes is a financial award from the University or Department. The sole criterion for awarding a scholarship is academic merit. Scholarships, unlike loans, do not have to be re-paid.

Departmental Scholarships/ Academic Merit Awards.

The department offers these scholarships to overseas students (i.e. students who are not classified by the university as home or EU for fee purposes). The award is based on previous academic achievements. The scholarship amount varies depending on previous qualifications gained and the achieved grades. There is no formal application process, as all applicants will be automatically considered for these scholarships. Note however that in order to be considered applicants must have submitted their MSc application by August 31st (for intended September entry) and November 30th (for intended January start).

University Scholarships

Information on other scholarships administered by the University can be found on the graduate school website. More details for international students are available on the International Office website. Note that there are also scholarships for students from Latin America, Portugal and Spain.

PhD Funding

• PhD studentship: Engineering Systems Requirements for Locally Sustainable Communities (jointly funded by the College of Science and Engineering and EPSRC)
• PhD Studentship: Boosting Automated Reasoning by Mining Proof Strategies (jointly funded by the College of Science and Engineering and EPSRC)
• PhD studentship supported by a Microsoft Research Fellowship
