Upgrading from CPD

CPD Students undertaking CPD modules (assuming that they take the exam in those modules) will be eligible for later accreditation of the credits gained towards a PG Cert or MSc. We will only allow students to include credits of modules that they have gained in the last two years before formally applying for a PG Cert or MSc. The “credit transfer” is only applicable to CPD modules that students undertook with us and that form part of the PG Cert or MSc programme for which they are applying.

Upgrading from PG Cert to MSc

Students registered on a PG Cert programme can upgrade to study for an MSc any time during their studies. Such upgrades will not be possible after completion of the study for PG Cert. There might also be constraints on which MSc programme a student can upgrade to, as the student will need to cover all core modules of the MSc programme to satisfy regulations -- the MSc in Advanced Computer Science has no specific core modules, so this will always be an upgrade option.

The maximum period of registration for the MSc will be reduced in line with the period of time already taken to complete the Pg Cert. You will be notified of your remaining study period at the point of acceptance to undertake the MSc.
