The Gender Relations in the Labour Market and the Welfare State mid-term conference

You are invited to the mid-term conference of the European Sociological Association’s Research Network 14: Gender Relations in the Labour Market and the Welfare State to be held at the University of Leicester. The aim of this conference will be to establish the role and position of Gender Relations in European Labour Markets and Welfare States. We will consider achievements made and what challenges remain, especially in light of current economic and policy developments at European, national and regional levels. 

Key themes of the presentations and discussions will include: 

  • Intersections between labour markets and welfare states in Europe
  • Living and working patterns in current societies
  • How can work-life balance be made a reality?
  • Gender perspectives on older workers

Registration

To encourage participation by a broad range of early career researchers and experienced academics, we do not charge a registration fee. To register, please contact Vanessa.Beck@le.ac.uk with the following information: name, position, affiliation with postal address, country, email address and dietary preferences.

Travel and Accommodation

Participants are asked to make their own travel arrangements and book accommodation. If you would like advice on which hotels are close to the University, please contact the conference organisers.

The conference will take place on the 4th Floor of the Charles Wilson on the main campus of the University of Leicester.
