Over the past few months, the Centre for Labour Market Studies has been working towards the Green Impact Silver award, and we are delighted to announce that we successfully achieved Silver at the awards ceremony in May. CLMS is one of 17 departments at the University of Leicester taking part in this national environmental accreditation scheme encouraging pro-environmental behaviours. The University aims to cut carbon emissions by 60% within the next 10 years.

 As well as simple measures, such as cutting energy use and recycling, the scheme involves identifying green impact as a department. A key element for CLMS is the production and posting of paper-based course materials, so we are looking at ways to improve the green impact of this element of our work over the next few years.

Although as a distance learner you may not be on campus very often, we hope you will support our efforts to reduce, reuse and recycle!
