Event Summary
The University of Leicester is host to the East Midlands heat for the Salters’ Festival of Science. Teams from the schools who have entered battle it out for a place in the final with two practical challenges, one set by Salters the second by the University. This is always a very competitive event and the judges have the hard task of separating the winners. In addition to the main competition students will enjoy an exciting chemistry demonstration chemistry lecture.

Event Summary
This event is a collaborative chemistry and genetics event hosted by the GENIE CETL. During the hands-on workshops students will have the opportunity to investigate the chemistry of jelly and ice-cream along with the extraction of DNA and a forensic crime scene analysis.
This event will usually include:

KNOW Chemistry

Number of Places Available: 120

Event Summary
This event is hosted by Nottingham Trent University and asks students to consider what life would be like if there really was ‘no chemistry’. The event involves a variety of practical workshops delivered by a partnership of local universities and staff from AstraZeneca. The day finishes with a spectacular demonstration lecture.
