Biological Sciences at Leicester
We offer a range of courses in Biological Sciences, including specialisms in Biochemistry, Genetics, Microbiology, Neuroscience, Zoology, and Physiology with Pharmacology. The School was ranked 16th in the UK for Biosciences in the 2016 University Guide published by The Guardian. We offer an outstanding student experience: in the 2015 National Student Survey, 96% of students were satisfied with their course and we achieved 100% satisfaction for Zoology and Genetics. Our student-staff ratio is 9.9 (which puts us in the Top 5) and we have a contact time that is above the average for the sector.
The School’s teaching is delivered by four departments:

- Neuroscience, Psychology and Behaviour
The departments collaborate on teaching and research. Our ability to offer a wide range of degrees gives our students both breadth of vision and specialised knowledge across the whole range of the modern biological sciences.
