OTTER invites UoL staff to attend an afternoon seminar on open educational resources (OERs) on Wednesday, 23 September 2009, 2–4pm, in the Woodhouse Room, 4th Floor, Charles Wilson Building.
The purpose of this seminar is to raise awareness of OERs across UoL and in the HE sector and to disseminate the work being conducted as part of the OTTER project, which involves 10 UoL departments.
This event will be of interest to anyone new to the concept of freely distributed and modifiable learning resources, and will outline the benefits of this approach to HEIs. It will also address many common concerns over ‘giving away’ educational material.
In addition to talks given by the OTTER team members, there will be guest presentation by Tina Wilson, part of the OU's highly successful OpenLearn OER programme. Tina will refer not only to OpenLearn but also to the follow-on Pocket Project at the University of Derby.
If you are interested in attending, please let us know by registering.
