Course Overview |
Ever wondered how 3D worlds can be used in education? This workshop highlights the educational benefits of MUVEs (multi-user virtual environment) such as Second Life and OpenSim, and shows some of the ways they are being used today. |
|
What can I expect to cover? |
In this session, participants will create an avatar before being taken into the 3D environment of Second Life to learn some basic movement, camera and building controls. |
|
What will I get out of this course? |
An appreciation of the immersive qualitites of Second Life as an addition to the teacher's repertoire. |
