Course Overview

Drawn from the department’s work on open educational resources (OERs), this workshop focuses on creating teaching materials that are clear from copyright infringement and which ultimately could be released as OERs themselves.

What can I expect to cover?

This session will introduce participants to the fundamental principles of OERs such as the Creative Commons license. They will be shown how to exploit in a legal way popular image repositories such as Flickr, as well as OER repositories such as Jorum.

What will I get out of this course?

Participants be shown how OERs can drastically reduce the time it takes to develop resources for a course without reducing its quality.

Who is it for?

All University staff and associates.
