Dr Ming Nie
Research Associate in E-learning and SCORE Fellow
Previously, she was a PhD student at Middlesex University, London, gaining her PhD in March 2006. Her PhD research looks into the impact of culture on Distance Learning, which investigates how students from different cultural backgrounds learn differently through a distance learning programme delivered by a UK university. Dr Nie was originally from Beijing, China. Before she came to the UK, she worked as a customer service engineer for an IT company in Shenzhen, China for several years. Dr Nie joined Beyond Distance Research Alliance on 10 July 2006. She is currently working as the Research Associate to a Higher Education Academy funded research project called IMPALA (Informal Mobile Podcasting And Learning Adaptation). IMPALA looks into students' learning experiences through Podcasting and how the beneficial effects can be enhanced.Follow the University on
