Facilities

The department is well equipped to provide students with important resources for the study and research of Art History and Film.

The Slide Room

Student and Tutor using the Slide Room

The department has its own slide room, which houses the collection of:

  • 100,000 slides
  • 70,000 photographs
  • 100 original prints

There is also a collection of reference books, an on-line computer and a collection of CD-ROMS and videos.

The slide room is situated on the seventeenth floor and has panoramic views of the park and city. It is a relaxed and friendly environment for you to work in and can be used for individual and group study. Many students meet in the slide room to do project work with friends.

The Goddard Room

A purpose built facility to support the study of film-based resources is available to you. The Goddard room contains audio-visual equipment and private study booths.

The Film Theatre

The Film Theatre

A state of the art digital projection system is installed in a purpose designed lecture theatre for showing films in cinema-like surroundings.
