MA in Film and Film Cultures

Film Student

Aims

This course is presented by the Department of History of Art and Film and the School of Modern Languages. The MA in Film and Film Cultures enables students to understand the complex relationships between films and the social and cultural contexts in which they were produced and consumed. You will gain a detailed knowledge of different film styles, film makers and film cultures including both Hollywood and Europe.  Students’ awareness of the key debates and issues within the discipline will be developed throughout the course. You will acquire advanced research skills under the guidance of leading academics to undertake research at postgraduate level and beyond.

Scholarships

There are two £1000 bursaries available for this course taken full time. To qualify, you need a good first degree (2.1 or above) in a relevant subject (e.g English, History, Media Studies, Modern Languages) and submit the application by 31st May 2011.
