Excavations at Wallingford
We undertook excavations across each of the three years of work on the project at Wallingford, exploring and delving into features found in the extensive earthwork and geophysical surveys in and around the town. Web diaries were kept for each trench; click on the years and trenches bewlow for words and images on how the work progressed, finds made, and team activities!

A team shot during the 2011 dig at the castle barbican - here finding much 17th-century Civil War work over the medieval deposits, creating, through importation of much clay and gravel, a substantial platform for cannon to help defend the site and in particular to control the town's North Gate
