Current Research
Since 1996, I have worked in various projects in Spain and Greece, both on excavations and intensive survey. In the last five years, I have worked with the Knossos Urban Landscape Project of which I am currently Assistant Director and ceramic expert for Early Bronze Age Pottery. My academic interests also include the Early and Middle Bronze Age of the Iberian Peninsula as well as archaeological theory, in particular state formation processes and the studyof funerary behaviour in past societies.
The title of my Leverhulme research project is: The emergence of the Mediterranean. A comparative investigation of the creation of the first hierarchical societies in Europe and the Levant.
