American Studies at Leicester

The Centre for American Studies is based within the College of Arts, Humanities and Law and draws from the teaching expertise of staff in the following academic units: the School of English, the School of Historical Studies, the Department of History of Art and Film, and the Department of Politics and International Relations. With a combined intake of approximately 80 students per year for single and joint honours, and ranked in the "Top 2" by The Complete University Guide, and The Times Good University Guide, the Centre for American Studies at Leicester is firmly established as one of the UK's most important providers of American Studies degrees.

We offer both three-year and four-year degrees in American Studies, as well as Joint Degrees in English and American Studies and History and American Studies allowing you to complete your full degree here or spend the third year abroad at an American University, returning to Leicester in your final year.
