Teaching

Students and their learning experience and achievements are at the heart of teaching in the College, which offers around 30 undergraduate and 60 postgraduate courses, of which nearly half can be followed by Distance Learning.

TeachingThe College features a distinctive reputation combining on campus and distance learning education, with around 80% of the university’s distance learning students located within it.

Our courses cover established academic areas such as politics and international relations, sociology, and management studies, and we continue to innovate, introducing courses in new and policy-related areas such as new media, and terrorism and security.

Students in the College give consistently high rankings in the national statistics to their degree experience – 97% in Lifelong Learning, 95% in Politics and International Relations and 90% in Sociology in the latest National Student Survey.
