Life Sciences Interface
The Life Sciences Interface (LSI) theme is an interdisciplinary research umbrella that connects basic research in the physical sciences with life science disciplines for the improvement of health and the study of biological function and/or disease.
The theme is a hub for interdisciplinary work across the physical and biological science interface, and encourages physicists, mathematicians, computer scientists and chemists to work with biologists and medically relevant researchers.
Contact: the theme leader for the Life Sciences Interface is Professor Emma Raven.
The LSI theme builds on existing strengths and embraces several centres of excellence within the University of Leicester, including the Mathematical Modelling Centre (MMC), the Centre for Chemical Biology and the Space Research Centre (SRC). It also interacts closely with several research groups in the College of Medicine, Biological Sciences and Psychology, and with the MRC Toxicology Unit.
