Materials Technology Integration Centre (MaTIC)

Engineering Building

The Materials Technology Integration Centre (MaTIC) is a £1 million high-tech engineering centre which works with industry to drive innovation in materials technology. The aim of MaTIC is to provide expertise and know-how of advanced technology which can be used to solve complex engineering and scientific problems.

Based next to the University of Leicester’s iconic Stirling/Gowan Engineering Building, MaTIC allows collaboration across the College of Science and Engineering at the University of Leicester and supports activities in the Departments of Engineering, Geology, Chemistry and Physics. The centre is jointly funded by the Higher Education Funding Council's Capital Infrastructure Fund and the University of Leicester.

MaTIC was opened by the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Leicester, Professor Sir Robert Burgess, in November 2010.
