Incoming Visiting Fellowship Programme
The Visiting Fellowship scheme enables academics and researchers to spend a period of time conducting research in the Centre for Landscape and Climate Research at the University of Leicester.
Prospective applicants should note that the Centre for Landscape and Climate Research only accepts applicants who can demonstrate an established research record or a clear potential for research excellence. Applicants should describe how their visit will complement our research environment and enhance the Centre’s research profile, provide a clear explanation for the proposed duration and timing of their visit, and describe the research objectives for their visit.
Timing
Visiting Fellows may start at any time during the year, subject to agreement between each individual fellow and the Centre for Landscape and Climate Research.
Duration
Fellowships will normally be between two weeks and three months duration.
Relationship with the Centre
We encourage Visiting Fellows to participate fully in the research life of the Centre for Landscape and Climate Research and affiliated Departments, for example through attending research seminars, research group meetings, research project meetings and other relevant events. Visiting Fellows are normally expected to give a seminar presentation on their research during their visit.
Outcome report
At the end of the fellowship, Visiting Fellows are asked to submit a brief written report summarising their contribution to the Centre. The report should be sent to virginia.nicolas@leicester.ac.uk before the last day of the visit.
Application
Send us an outline of your proposed research visit, anticipated outcomes and requested financial support (1-2 sides of A4), your curriculum vitae (2 sides of A4) and a full list of publications and research funding at any time. Eligible expenses include travel, accommodation and direct consumable costs. Salary costs cannot be covered. The closing dates are 31 March, 30 June, 30 September, and 31 December.
