Welcome to the Leicester Clinical Trials Unit
The Leicester Clinical Trials Unit (LCTU) is a fully registered UKCRC trials unit working with investigators and clinicians to design and deliver high quality clinical research. It is an academic unit, able to provide expertise and support for the management of multi-centre randomised controlled trials and other complex studies to the standards required by regulatory authorities, and to provide support in the form of specified trial-related services. Observational or cohort studies that require significant levels of data management could also benefit from LCTU support.
We welcome and encourage you to make contact with us early in the development of your application or protocol. The steps of the process are outlined in working with the LCTU.

Clinical Trial Units and The Cochrane Collaboration
A key part of the infrastructure for clinical trials in the UK is provided by more than 50 clinical trials units across the country. This podcast, featuring Professor Julia Brown, Director of the Clinical Trial Units Network, talks about the value and contribution of Clinical Trials Units for the Cochrane Collaboration and their contribution to ensuring that trials change lives.
This unit receives National Institute for Health Research CTU Support Funding. This funding has been awarded to support the unit in developing and supporting NIHR trials.
