BIOMEDICAL MECHANICAL AND ELECTRONIC WORKSHOP

The University of Leicester Biomedical Mechanical and Electronic Workshop provides a cost-effective, efficient and customer-friendly service. Principally for the design, manufacture and repair of specialist mechanical, electrical and electronic equipment as required for teaching and research in the College of Medicine, Biological Sciences and Psychology

This workshop has been providing equipment of all shapes and sizes, designed to the specific requirements of the University of Leicester staff and students since 1968. They also carry out repairs to all types of mechanical, electrical or electronic laboratory equipment that fall within their extensive scope

Why pay for expensive off-the-shelf equipment that doesn’t fit your requirements exactly, if at all? When you can have bespoke equipment designed and manufactured on our campus, that serves your purposes precisely and offers exceptional value-for-money

Many examples of the diverse nature of our work can be found in our  galleries:

Typical examples of our regular work are:

  • Equipment typically used in laboratories
  • Plant and microbiological LED arrays
  • Confocal and miscellaneous microscopy projects
  • Electrical or Electronic control equipment
  • Electronic, electrical and mechanical equipment repairs
