The December edition of the Café Research will have three talks being given, one of which is Irene Zempi presenting her talk entitled:' Islamophobia and the Face Veil in the UK'.
Cafe Research is an opportunity for research postgraduates to get together and talk about their research in an informal setting.
The aim of Café Research is to provide a series of informal social events where research students can meet, network, share ideas and even hone their presentation skills, over a glass of wine or orange juice. The evening will typically feature three or four researchers from across the university, who will describe their research in a manner that can be easily understood by people from outside their discipline.

This workshop is designed for research students, with previous career experience: 1. for whom their PhD is part of a career change process; 2. who are interested in changing from their current career path to a different one; 3. who are interested in the topic of career change.
This workshop is an opportunity for participants to plan their career paths, in a structured way, taking into account key factors such as their circumstances, values and aspirations. During the workshop participants will explore the career management opportunities, that are open to them whilst completing their postgraduate studies; plan their transition from postgraduate study to the workplace; set their career management goals. RDF subdomains A2, B1, B2, B3.
This is a workshop focused on the development of skills for: 1.successful completion of application forms; 2. Success in interviews and other employee selection processes. Participants will: 1. Explore the assessment methods used by employers when selecting employees; 2.learned about competence based assessment; 3. Gained an understanding of how job applications and interviews are used by employers; 4. enhanced their application and interview skills through practical exercises. RDF subdomains B1, B3, C1, D3.
