Centre for English Local History

The Centre for English Local History is unique because it is devoted to the study of local history everywhere in England and Wales. Established in 1948, it is the only specifically postgraduate research centre of its kind in the UK and has an international reputation for its teaching and research. Located at 5 Salisbury Rd, it is part of the School of History. Lists of our students' past dissertations and theses from 1948 to 2013 are available here. On 25 September the Centre is holding a celebratory symposium to mark the 50th Anniversary of the MA.
