Toronto and New York October 2010
A Relationship that lasts a Lifetime – Toronto and New York October 2010
It was a great pleasure to meet so many Leicester graduates recently at our first ever Alumni Receptions in Toronto (27th October) and New York (28th October). Alumni and guests greatly enjoyed both evenings, meeting friends old and new as well as hearing the latest University news from Professor Douglas Tallack (Vice President International), Suzanne Alexander (Director of the International Office) and Steve O’Connor (Director of Development).
Amazingly representatives from fifty different class years were in attendance and happily swapped memories of days in Leicester and stories of how their Leicester degree had positively changed their lives and careers. There was a wide spread of subject areas at both events from Law and Zoology to Museum Studies and Business Management and a good mix of distance learners and former campus based graduates.
The enduring passion for Leicester is very motivating and we were delighted at the warm reception we received in both cities. Do let Steve know if you want to promote or share stories and photos of your own alumni get-togethers. Suzanne is always interested in meeting enthused advocates of their courses of study and will be in touch if you offered to help out with our future recruitment activity.
The warm reception we received in both cities has encouraged us to establish two special Funds and Steve will be writing to alumni in both countries with exciting news of how alumni can support The Canadian Alumni Fund for Leicester and The United States Alumni Fund for Leicester.
We were so busy talking in Toronto that we forgot the photographs but you can see photographs of the New York event below.
If you have any photos of either of the events please email them to alumni.relations@le.ac.uk and we will add them to this selection.
