I maintain the Centre for Urban History website and produce the monthly online newsletter

As a mature student, I studied with the Open University before joining the Centre for Urban History in 2001 and becoming the first student to complete the Masters Degree in Social History. I continued part-time research towards a PhD (19th-century municipal government in the Potteries) at CUH but transferred to University of Edinburgh in 2007 under the supervision of Professor Richard Rodger.
